The FlexPlan project will participate in the CIGRE Session 2022 event in Paris with two papers:
- “The innovative FlexPlan methodology to reap the benefits of including storage and load flexibility in grid planning: methodology and regional study cases” (C1-PS3-10786)
- “Storage and Demand Response inclusion in the network extension planning process” (C1-PS2-11029)
The former paper provides an overview of the potentialities of the FlexPlan project, carries out an evaluation of the potential advantages over status quo of the new FlexPlan grid methodology and tools and brings some preliminary results of the simulations of the 6 regional cases.
The latter paper provides an overview of the heuristic methodology implemented by the FlexPlan pre-processor, which calculates a set with the most promising candidates for system upgrade (deployment of new lines, installation of new storage devices, conversion to flexible management of loads), that are then co-evaluated by the grid expansion tool optimization algorithm in order to determine the best expansion path for the years 2030, 2040 and 2050.
We will participate:
- in the C1 Poster Session during the morning of Tuesday 30th August and
- in the C1 Group Discussion Meeting on Wednesday 31st August.
