The Chinese CEPRI (China Electric Power Research Institute), has joined the Advisory Board of the FlexPlan project as its 58th member.
CEPRI (http://www.epri.sgcc.com.cn/html/eprien/index.html) is the research center affiliated to the Chinese vertically integrated utility, acting as national TSO and DSO. The person who joined FlexPlan Advisory Board is Ms. Dai Qian, project manager and team leader from the planning department of CEPRI.
While replying to the invitation, Ms. Qian wrote “It’s a good opportunity for me to participate in this scientific and forward-looking project. President Xi Jinping put forward the ambitious goal of achieving peaking carbon emissions by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2060, which is bound to bring unprecedented challenges to power system planning. Energy storage and other kinds of flexible resources will provide widely support for the safe operation of renewable energy and power system. The FlexPlan project has great significance not only to the European Union, but also to other countries. I am very happy to participate each activity of FlexPlan Advisory Board.”
CEPRI is not the only extra-EU member of the FlexPlan Advisory Board, the other being the worldwide renowned researcher Ross Baldick from the University of Texas, author of countless studies on the electrical system and grid.
